Environmental Education Policy Support

Field of Mars EEC staff can help your school implement the Environmental Education Policy for Schools published by the Department of Education and Training in 2001. This mandatory policy is to be implemented in schools from 2002 and requires each school to produce a School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) which is incorporated in the whole school plan. Click on the picture above to download the policy.

The
SEMP should be organised under three focus areas:
• Curriculum
• Management
of resources
• Management
of school grounds

Field
of Mars EEC staff can:
• Attend
staff meetings to introduce the policy and outline SEMP requirements and processes
• Work
with schools to carry out environmental "audits"
• Provide
advice relating to SEMPs
• Provide
information and resources relevant to the Environmental Education Policy.
