DET
The
centre
is
operated
by
the
NSW
Department
of
Education
and
Training
to
support
DET
schools. Our services are only available to NSW DET
schools.
Cost
The
majority of our programs incur a voluntary contribution fee
of $3.50 per student. Some speciality programs cost $5 or
$6. Please refer to specific flyers for additional
information.
Relevance
Excursions
with
the
Field
of
Mars
EEC
must
link
with
student
learning
and
expected
outcomes
back
in
the
classroom.
We
can
modify
our
programs
to
ensure
they
are
relevant
to
your
students.
Maximum
Number of Classes
A
maximum
of
two
classes
can
visit
the
Field
of
Mars
EEC
at
the
one
time,
however
to
maximise
learning
opportunities
single
classes
are
even
better.
Class
teachers
are
involved
in
the
initial
planning
and
often
help
run
student
activities
on
the
day.
EEC
staff
provide
equipment,
resources
and
teacher
briefings.
When
conducting
programs
at
your
school
we
can
work
with
a
maximum
of
three
classes.
Parents
Schools
are
welcome
to
invite
parents
to
participate
in
activities.
Activities
are
not
suitable
for
pre-schoolers.
Before
your visit
Field
of
Mars
EEC
staff
will
contact
you
to
discuss
your
needs.
Consultation
about
program
details
is
conducted
via
the
phone
or
as
a
pre-visit,
where
EEC
staff
visit
you
or
you
visit
the
centre
or
a
specific
site.
A
draft
visit
plan
will
then
be
forwarded
to
you
before
the
final
plan
is
prepared.
This
plan
includes
general
information,
risk
and
site
information,
syllabus
links,
program
for
the
day,
any
worksheets
that
may
be
used,
resources
that
the
Field
of
Mars
EEC
will
supply
and
resources
that
the
school
needs
to
bring.

Assessment

a

assessment
is
availble
on
the
DET website.
Specific
information
is
provided
with
the
excursion
visit
plan
and
activities.
